Was here for business in the low season. Comfortable hotel with nice and friendly staff. The windows in all the rooms me and my 2 colleagues had where basically useless as they were not keeping the cold out. They do however have great heating to compensate for that. It does seem weird that they haven't just put in new windows instead though. Breakfast buffet is the best I've had in the UK so far. Great selection of warm and cold foods. Not included in most room types though.
Went for our team Christmas party. Food was good and plenty of crackers and decorations atoms the table. Had an early bird offer of 30 for the courses. Disco until midnight. Dance floor a little cramped and could've done with moving some tables. Overall very good and already thinking about the same place next Christmas.
An overpriced not good produce, poor value, poorly staffed, nicely furnished dump. It was looking lovely and had high hopes for this. Firstly my Guinness loving husband said it was the worse Guinness he'd ever had, plus it was 2 inches short. Ten pounds for a cheese sandwich, so he had chips which were reasonable at 3,50if there wasn't only about 8of them. None behind the bar we had to wait a good ten minutes to be served, even though it was busy. I asked for a tariff of the rooms , there wasn't one and was told to check it out on the website. Too few chairs, very disappointed and if I could give it zero I would
So far so good! Polite receptionist and beautiful view! Had to change my rating from 5 stars to 2... We ended up being exceptionally over charged in hidden fees, and we were charged double for every meal, even though we had scheduled and paid for them in advance when booking the room. And we had also paid for two massage sessions and were charged for four. I attempted to dispute this after the fact over the phone but had no "proof" that it was only the two of us and a baby and not four adults. The stay itself was fine. We discovered other than the cliffs and the castle, not much in the area, which is sad as it has so much potential!
So disappointed. Part of our visit to Dover always includes lunch at the Hotel. There were 5 of us and l speak for everyone that we were so disappointed. The restaurant has lost the cosy feel. The lunch menu had gone up to 17.95 for 2 courses which l appreciate will happen but the food was not what l would expect from a top chef. One of ladies had the the goats cheese & beetroot salad but needed glasses to find the goats cheese. The curry that followed was bland and quite boring really. We didn't have any desert as that was extra. I'm afraid they have really got it wrong. Bring back the hotel chef.
